Books about vampires run the gamut from souless blood sucking variety to sensual tortured souls trying to find redemption from their pasts. Leave your conceptions about Buffy and Angel at the at the cover, and let go of the primal fear they inspire.
Werewolves are not the only shapeshifters around anymore. Big cats, dragons, birds, and even snakes are all part of the shapeshifter world. The mind of the shapeshifter is complex and at times beyond human reasoning.
Tinkerbell does not live in the land of faires because the fairies of Urban Fantasy would eat her alive. From high Sidhe to goblins, magical beings who are more petty than humans shatter all Disney perceptions.
Charmed meets the Nutty Professor and The Wizard of Oz drops into The Craft. Witches save the world while their best friends try and destroy it. Love, death, destruction, and mayhem are the hallmarks of witches in Urban Fantasy.
Not all demons are evil and not all angels are good. Shocked? This is the world of Urban Fantasy where all you thought you knew about Heaven and Hell are turned upside down.
